Mary Catherine Hamelin
Licensed Midwife, CLC
I am a Florida Licensed Midwife, and graduate of Commonsense Childbirth School of Midwifery. My background was in the arts, but I found my greatest inspiration in motherhood. I was born in Florida and grew up climbing orange trees and catching sandfleas. A deep connection with nature weaves through the work I do as a mother and midwife.
Since 2009 I have supported hundreds of birthing families as both a doula and midwife, in diverse communities and various birth settings in both New York City and West Central Florida. I have worked with advocacy groups Childbirth Connection and Choices in Childbirth. I became a Florida Licensed Midwife in 2018, and worked for The Birth Center of St. Pete through the end of 2019, when I opened this independent home birth practice, a long time dream of mine.
Mission Statement
My mission for this midwifery practice is to provide holistic community birth care for families that:
Roots in research of traditions, trends, and evidence
Reconnects us to our nature and each other
Refreshes our commitment to health & vitality
I believe that the Midwifery Model of Care has the potential to positively impact a family’s health for generations to come.
